This will give you enough energy to enjoy a cultural day or to go on an unforgettable excursion. You can visit the castles and palaces in the Tyrolean Oberland and in the Vinschgau, the Churburg, Burgeis, Finstermuenz, the regional capital Innsbruck, Glurns, Mals, the crystal worlds, Meran… Or maybe you want to take a trip on the famous Bernina-Express via the Berninapass to Tirano. All of the above and even more places are easy to reach from the Hotel Linde. And if you want to have a holiday from your car as well then we have something very special for you on offer: Our own coach and excursion business which offers unforgettable trips to the permanent ice of the glaciers (such as the Kaunertal or the Oetztal Glaciers) up to the orchards of Southern Tyrol. And far beyond. A day trip to Lake Garda? A market day in Meran? Or maybe a trip to Venice? No problem and guaranteed stress-free!
Summer holidays at the Hotel Linde: Holiday in the land of legends. The region between Landeck and Nauders – the Obere Gericht – into Vinschgau is a true find for all those with an interest in history and culture. Nordic-Walking
Nordic Walking is the new trend across the Alps
And that is a good thing, since there are only a few summer sports which are suitable for everyone, are healthy and free! You can experience this healthy sport intensively and in many different forms in the Tyrolean Oberland and in the region Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis like in no other holiday region in Tyrol.
What started as summer training for cross-country skiers at the beginning of the 90ies and has its roots in the other very popular Nordic leisure sport "walking" is now one of the fastest-growing summer sports of the Alps. And that is not surprising, since Nordic Walking is the perfect health sport for people of any age group. Nordic Walking is walking with shortened cross-country ski poles. The poles are used in almost the same way as in classic cross-country skiing with the same range of arm movements which uses almost all muscle groups.
There are around 300 km of Nordic Walking tours available around the Hotel Linde. The offer of the region Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is so diverse and varied like in no other holiday region in Tyrol with a total of nineteen signposted Nordic-Walking tours. A total route of 121 km is well-prepared and signposted for guests. The terrain of the sun plateau is easy to walk on. If you want to walk with your poles at a higher altitude, simply take the cable car up to the mountain tops and enjoy the wonderful view, the quiet and exercise.
You can even find a Nordic Walking paradise just around the Hotel Linde in Ried and in Kaunertal. Highly recommended (especially for beginners and all of those who want to practise the technique!): The free, guided Nordic Walking tours as part of the Tyrolean Oberland SummerCard! Professional Free Nordic-Walking pole rental at the Hotel Linde!
Hiking
Hundreds of kilometres of marked hiking routes, picturesque cabins and mountain pastures and unforgettable experiences are waiting for you
The Inn runs through the Tyrolean Oberland, nestled into the valley, surrounded by mountain crests. There is a hiking paradise which cannot be surpassed to its left and right, from the alder meadows along the river right up to the highest peak.
The hiking region Tyrolean Oberland has over 300 km marked hiking routes. Picturesque cabins and mountain pastures, mountain lakes, impressive canyons and flumes, waterfalls and mountain tops, cosy walks across meadows and fields… The Klammsteig, a wildly romantic and unique ravine at the start of the Radurschl valley, is one of the hiking highlights. You enter the ravine only a few hundred metres from Pfunds – a wonderful nature experience with several bridges and a rope bridge, thunderous waterfalls and overhanging rocks. A series of the most rare ferns and grasses grow here. At the end of this ravine you will find a delightful spot, a romantic meadow with seating-accomodation for a short break.
Another must: A walking-tour in and through the nature park Kaunergrat – wonderfully sunny, far reaching views and the most interesting flora and fauna of Austria! Or a walking-tour to the Fender Alm (unforgettable panoramic views beyond the upper Inntal), to Kobler Alm, to Hohenzollernhaus (at 2.120 meter altitude, but can be reached with the help of the hiking bus in approx. 2 hours walking time), Radurschlalm (hiking through the highest closed Swiss stone pine forest in the Alps. The open-air exhibition "The kingdom of the Swiss stone pine" causes quite a stir) or an ascent to famous Anton-Renk cabin.
We could, of course, mention hundreds more of worthwhile destinations, attractive mountain tops and tours, spots where you would wish that the tour would never end, so beautiful that you completely forget your muscle aches and pains in the evening – but why write about something that words just cannot describe? We would much rather refer you to our picture gallery which gives you an impression of our forests, meadows, mountain pastures and mountains. Of the cabins, ravins and mountain lakes in the Tyrolean Oberland.
We would like to point out, however, the guided hiking tours with interesting theme tours as part of the SummerCard are free to our guests. And we would also like to point out the SummerCard Gold – once bought at a very affordable price – which enables you to free access to all summer cable cars and hiking buses (cabin transfer) of the entire region of the Tyrolean Oberland.
Mountainbike
It's all about biking for those "knights on wheels" from May to October in the holiday region Tyrolean Oberland!
The biking paradise around the Hotel Linde means biking fun in front of the beautiful, dreamy alpine scenery. You can discover the dense forests around Ried, the tracks in Unterengadin, the paths around the Reschenlake or you can cycle along the Inn to Landeck, Imst, Gurgeltal, Oetztal...
Many biking paths meet around Ried. Down from the sun plateau (Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis), up to the Reschenpass and further to South Tyrol, to the Engadin and into Kaunertal and into the Inntal. And there are new biking tours in any direction. They may wind leisurely through the valley, then go steeply up a mountain, past glorious lakes to fantastic viewpoints. You can choose between culturally attractive castles and palace tours, attractive scenic lake tours or fully-packed day tours with impressive altitudes.
If you choose real mountain biking tours, then the dense forests up to 2.300 m will provide you with a nice climate on hot days, cabins for a stop and a snack are plentiful. The side valleys of the upper Inntal are inviting with the rocky canyons which provide peerless routes across old pathways. A top-class tour destination is Nauders and the Reschensee. You can combine an almost limitless amount of routes depending on your whim, shape and technical know-how. The possibilities include a leisurely trip for hobby-cyclist to demanding hour-long round trips for biking enthusiast.
If you would rather race for miles with a racing bike we can recommend the old, almost traffic-free roads through the Inntal. Along the Inn, it will take you to Landeck and further through romantic meadows up to Imst, into the Gurgltal, Oetztal, Pitztal and back to Hotel Linde. If the tour should be too long, then you can also return by using public transport, coach or train (also recommendable: a trip to Meran and back with the Vinschger train!). You will hardly manage to ride on all the routes we have to offer or to get to know them really well. You should, however, definitely make a start of it!
And there is of course the option to rent mountain and racing bikes for your biking holiday at the Hotel Linde. There are a bike room, drying room and route maps available at the Hotel Linde And there are also free guided mountain bike tours as part of the Tyrolean Oberland SummerCard.
