Ski & Snowboard
Serfaus, Fiss, Ladis, Nauders, Ischgl – famous skiing resorts open to you during your skiing holidays at Hotel Linde
And additionally the family friendly skiing resort Fendels, the quiet, attractive slopes of the Venet region and the year-round skiing resort at the Kaunertal Glacier. Almost 600 kilometres of snow-reliable slopes, numerous cross-country ski runs in the valleys and at high altitude will turn your winter holidays into an unforgettable experience.
No less than 6 attractive skiing resorts in the Tyrolean Oberland with wonderful slopes are within reach of the Hotel Linde in Ried, Tyrol. You can use all of them with only one ski pass, the Ski6 ski pass, which is also very attractive in terms of cost. Free bus shuttle directly from the hotel inclusive! And you can get onto the cable car and into the wonderful skiing resort of Fendels with kids' fun world, snowboard arena, night skiing, lit up toboggan run and so much more... almost directly from the hotel's doorstep.
Only about 500 metres away from the ski hotel you will find the modern 8-seat cabin cable car (shuttle service directly from the hotel) carries you to the family skiing resort Fendels. You will find 14 kilometres of first-class prepared slopes for every performance level. Plus, very special attractions for kids and boarders. A modern snow-making system makes the resort snow-reliable, even in spring. And there is also Bibi-Land, the winter adventure land for children. The focus is on learning through playing. "Bibi", the feisty kid's star, and his many helpers – well-trained skiing teachers – make sure that the kids have a good time. The Bibi-Land has everything on offer to make learning easy and entertaining – tepees, Bibi-jumping course, surfing, tubing hills, Bibi-path, moving floor and much more. Hence, kids can look forward to a diversified Bibi programme.
Only 7 kilometres away from Hotel Linde you find Tyrol's new skiing resort Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis. The ski bus picks you up right in front of the hotel and takes you directly to the valley station of the cable cars in Fiss – no need to look for parking spaces – and within minutes you are right in the middle of pure ski fun: wide-ranging slopes up to 2,700 metres, 37 kilometres of easy slopes, 99 kilometres of medium difficult and 24 kilometres of black runs for real experts. And once you have taken a break on one of the deckchairs on the Masner, hobnobbing with the mountains and the warm sun on your face... well, then you will understand that skiing is so much more than speed and fun under the "umbrella"! Those who don't ski can of course enjoy this unforgettable experience, too. The Masner-Express takes you up to almost 2,700 metres. Sunshine, fun and pleasure without end!
And another attraction: Ski safari in the Tyrolean Oberland:
Professional, local guides who are familiar with the resorts take you through the snow paradise of three countries (Austria, Switzerland, Italy!) and over 550 kilometres of slopes. It doesn't matter if your are leisure skier, powder-snow freak, freestyle skier, sporty skier or boarder, your guide who knows the skiing resorts like the back of their hand ensures that every safari becomes an unforgettable experience. On your first day you will carve in the skiing resort of Reschenpass/Schoeneben (I), the next in Nauders (A), then in Tyrol's skiing resort in Fiss-Ladis (A), in Tyrol's skiing resort Serfaus (A), in the skiing resort of Samnaun/Ischgl (CH/A) and finally in Samnaun-Ischgl or at the Kaunertal Glacier. Hotel Linde can offer you interesting packages including local guides, transfer costs and ski pass for your ski safari in the Tyrolean Oberland!
Cross-Country Skiing
Classic or skating. Sporty or easy-going and leisurely
The Tyrolean Oberland cross-country skiing region convinces with its 120 well-prepared runs at different altitudes. The enthusiasts of the Nordic winter sport also have access to 100 kilometres of pleasant runs in the region of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis – snow-reliable and freshly tracked every day!
The Tyrolean Oberland is the place to be for cross-country skiers! Kaunertal with the Kaunertal Glacier is well-known to winter sports enthusiasts. It is one of the top cross-country skiing destinations in Tyrol. It complements the Tyrol offer on cross-country ski runs and is part of the cross-country region in the Tyrolean Oberland with its over 120 km of well-prepared runs. The cross-country ski run network in the valley is 25 km long and runs through the entire Kaunertal. A training cross-country ski run is maintained at the Kaunertal Glacier (2,750). At 3,000 m altitude a true challenge for any cross-country skier!
Especially attractive for cross-country skiers: The romantic Hubertus run in the Kaunergrat nature park and the illuminated run in Feichten / Kaunertal (a 5 km run!). The region extends from Nauders at the Reschenpass via Ried-Prutz-Pfunds to the glacier region Kaunertal. The tracks for classic or skating, most of them in the medium difficulty range, take you alongside lakes and across glistening meadows. The daily night time cross-country skiing is - in addition to the high cross-country ski run at the Kaunertal Glacier - one of the special highlights of the Tyrolean Oberland.
The high plateau of Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is predestined for cross-country skiing due to its geographical advantages such as altitude and orientation. The inner alpine location guarantees many fair weather days. The leisurely cross-country skier can "walk" for hours across the wide sunny plateau without ever using a run twice. And especially sporty cross-country skiers find ideal conditions. The runs are always freshly tracked which enables the technical cross-country skiers to make speed and cover distance. The cross-country ski runs at around 2,000 meters at the Komperdell offer cross-country fun far into April which pleases those who can't get enough of this sport. Special cross-country ski cards ensure a smooth and affordable connection to these runs. There are even showers and changing rooms for day guests, the so-called "Nordic Point" in the spacious "Take-Off Snow & Fun Center" at the Komperdell middle station, to do the high standards of the region justice.
And, of course, there are also top cross-country skiing events on offer. Nauders, for example, organizes the so-called cross-country skiing sprint criterion every year.
Snow-Motion
The Tyrolean Oberland is one the most diverse winter sport regions of the Alps
There are loads of possibilities for off-piste fun, exercise and pleasure, in addition to all versions of alpine ski sport including all fun sports and cross-country skiing on more than 250 km of runs.
"Snow-Motion" is what we call all those many options here in the Tyrolean Oberland for drawing energy and inner harmony from nature. Winter walks in the fresh, crystal clear winter air through snowy forests are such highlights, or nordic winter walking across glistening meadows. Ice climbing on frozen waterfalls or at the ice tower in Pfunds (the 20 m high Ice-Tower at Ensplatz in the center of Pfunds offers ice fun on vertical ice!), a sense for bends is necessary for (night) tobogganing on kilometer-long natural toboggan runs. Feel a warm glow inside on a sleigh ride through Tyrol's winter world, cuddled into warm blankets.
A snowshoe hike – of course with the correct and effective Nordic technique - through untouched nature to attractive viewpoints … we can recommend this as an alternative programme just as much as a fun-packed toboggan day – or together with a stop at a cabin – a toboggan evening. The toboggan run Hohenegg is available for you in Ried (1.1 km long, night tobogganing three times a week until 10 p.m., toboggan rental). There are also toboggan runs in Fendels (ascent with 4-seat chairlift), in Pfunds (St. Ulrich toboggan run) and in Spiss.
And then there are the fun paradises in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis: Snowtubing, Fisser Fliger (hang glider), Skyswing, paragliding, snowmobile tours, ice-skating and much, much more. You will see: Holidays at the Hotel Linde in Tyrol offer countless possibilities to discover the winter anew every day!
