Chronicle of the Linde

How it all started

At the start of the 20th century, Josef Lenz (1850 – 1917) and his wife Adelheid Lenz (1869 – 1954) bought the village guest house Linde, also named the “Schmarrele Wirt”. As they got older, they handed over the running of it to their daughter Augusta Lenz, who became “a Rietzler” by marriage. The surname went, the Linde stayed.

Rooms with hot running water

In the 1960s, Augusta’s son, Hubert Rietzler and his wife Anneliese, Kurt’s parents, became the third generation of hosts. They added a handful of guest rooms to the guest house and took the plunge into making it a hotel.

Kurt and Heike Rietzler have been running the Gartenhotel since 1998. With team spirit and fresh ideas, your hosts have created sustainable, high quality, regionally rooted holiday offers at the Linde.

Meanwhile, their son Maximilian and daughter Anna-Lena are already bringing a breath of fresh air to the family business.
